  • Sukh Johal, CEO

    Sukh Johal is the CEO of Sapphira Developments. Under Sukh’s leadership today, Sapphira is expanding on the success of its first three decades, continually innovating in their depot operations, scaling up their community impact, and establishing a growing presence in the commercial real estate sector across the province. Equal parts entrepreneur and community advocate, Sukh is an active member of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO), currently serves as Treasurer of the Alberta Bottle Depot Association, and is a member of the University Hospital Foundation’s Igniters. He is a graduate of NAIT’s Finance program and lives in Edmonton with his wife Surina and their young family.

  • Jaskreet Johal, COO

    Jaskreet Johal is Chief Operating Officer at Sapphira Developments, where she oversees operational performance and service excellence across the organization. She has enjoyed a richly diverse career path that gives her a unique perspective and skillset, holding both a Miss Alberta Galaxy title and a Doctor of Medicine degree. Her professional journey in the bottle depot industry began early, working in her family’s depots since childhood, where she learned the value of hard work, operational excellence, and service.
    Jaskreet is a member of the University Hospital Foundation’s Igniters and works on a number of community initiatives in Edmonton, where she lives with her husband Raj and her two children.

  • Harjinder Johal, President

    Harjinder Singh Johal is the President of Sapphira Developments. Born and raised in Punjab, India, Harjinder's entrepreneurial path began in Calgary in the 1980s in the gas station business, and he later moved to Edmonton to found the first bottle depot locations under what is now Sapphira Developments. Today, Harjinder continues to oversee the growth and diversification of Sapphira’s ventures and to continue making tremendous contributions to his community. He is a former Director of the Alberta Bottle Depot Association and he has played a meaningful role in the development of the Guru Nanak Healing Garden at the University of Alberta. Harjinder lives in Edmonton with his wife Randhir, who has also played a tremendous role in the growth and development of the family enterprise for over 30 years.
